Advanced Driver Handling
Advanced Driver Handling Course Information
The Advanced Vehicle Handling course has been designed to give trainees both the theoretical and practical knowledge for controlling a vehicleís dynamics in both dangerous situations, and in their normal driving environment. This course does not use a ìskid carî with a skid cage or trolley wheels to induce the loss of control. On this course the candidate will employ a normal (all be it high performance) car, that will loose control due to the structure of the practical environment. This gives the candidate a more thorough view of how easy it is to loose control, and how simple it can be to regain control.
Course Aim: To impart new knowledge about the handling dynamics of light motor vehicles, and the means to utilise these dynamics to maintain control of a vehicle in hazardous driving situations.
The course is not unit standard based however covers the risk reduction and maintenance requirements associated with the general day to day use of a light motor vehicle as well as the more advanced control techniques.
Benefits: NZ Auto Car magazine published a story about advanced driving courses throughout New Zealand. The findings were that companies had large reductions in crash damage, and further reductions in normal fleet running costs. The minimum reduction from any company interviewed was 20%, through to a whopping 66%. Insurance companies may also provide for discounts if the driver of the insured vehicle has undergone advanced vehicle training. These benefits alone (without looking into the safety of drivers and the general public) make this course extremely cost effective.
Duration: 1 complete day. 8am - 5pm
Pre-requisite
Class 1 full licence. Prior driving of a manual vehicle is also necessary, as this is used on the course.
Note: Restricted licences may be permitted on a case-by-case basis. The case for these drivers to attend the course will be taken up with the instructor prior to the course commencement.
Prices: The price of this course can be obtained by contacting our office on free phone 0508 267 637.
If you have any further queries donít hesitate to contact us at any time.
